The service works on the principle of regular backup of customers’ VMware virtual environment into the CRA infrastructure cloud. Complete settings, computing performance, server configuration and data storage are backed up. The solution is integrated directly into a virtualization hypervisor. Less than 5% of companies had their processes set and tested them regularly. In the following years there was only a slight ongoing improvement. It was mostly addressed by companies that were considerably affected by operation severance and suffered or might suffer significant loses. With this the needed data connectivity bandwidth is optimised between the customer’s production IT environment and the CRA infrastructure cloud. Specific parameters for backing up are set individually by each customer. REAL RISKS The risks of outage or significant limitations of a company’s operation are more real than they seem. A 2016 blackout simulation on the city of Prague was conducted to identify exactly how big and real an outage can be. Outages can affect you even in places you would not expect, e.g. in an office building with underground parking where firefighters need to shut down the main power distribution board for several hours because of a burning car. It is not common for an office building to have diesel power generators or at least the option to have them installed on demand at the tenant’s cost. The worst situations concern buildings in the historic downtown areas where the necessary infrastructure (i.e. fire extinguisher, fire hydrant) installation is often obstructed by the fact that the building is in historic preservation. Immediate recovery of IT operation It is possible to do test runs of the service functionality – Disaster Recovery Plan. If the customer’s business IT fails, all that needs to be done is to activate the service and the backup servers located in the CRA infrastructures cloud environment will start up immediately. Therefore the recovery of the IT operation is almost instantaneous. Business Continuity Site Complex solution of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans. We offer a way to create a reserve workplace for the customer’s key workers. A standard part of the workplace is a laptop, external display, IP phone and secure connectivity to the customer’s systems. Touch to read more RPO 15 min. RTO 1 min. Maximum period in which data might be lost due to an IT emergency. The period can be set from 15 minutes up to 24 hours. Time needed for Disaster Recovery start up since the outage of production locality. The duration is 1 minute per single backed up virtual server. Where to start? Setting up the correct Business Recovery plan certainly has its rules and logical procedures. Every plan is preceded by an impact analysis. In the case of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity the subject is determining possible risks that are more or less real, the extent of the impact on the company, and swiftness of their elimination including running a backup solution. Another part that is required is the assessment of the damage that can occur in individual cases. According to the processes tools and potential investments are then defined. Limitation extent analysis is followed by definition of a process leading to the complete or at least partial restoration of the previous state and a list of people responsible for its implementation and control. In case of a serious problem at the customer’s locality - all it takes is one click and all their servers are immediately re-started up at our facility. To perform this operation just one click is sufficient and the customer can run it even from their smartphone or tablet.
